Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”

What does it mean that God is immutable? – Imagine that you are in a medical waiting room with your children and something inappropriate starts to show on the waiting area TV.  You have no remote, no controls on the TV are accessible, the office staff are too busy to care.  You cannot mute the TV, or change the channel, or turn it off.  You try to cover your kid’s eyes, but they can still hear the program, and can still see the second monitor in the opposite corner.  This gives us a poor example, of how it is impossible to mute God’s purpose.  Nothing can thwart God’s plans.
